TThe question was write 5.30 am, I used 24 hour clock and marked wrong, why?
Bonjour à tous,
This lesson has been reworked and the questions from the kwiz have been updated to include a hint as to which "clock" (12 hr clock or 24hr clock) to use when necessary. We hope it clarifies any ambiguity from these lessons/questions regarding AM vs PM, 12 vs 24 hour clock :).
For this particular question, we have now added a hint so that it clarifies which "clock" should be used.
We hope this is helpful.
Bonne journée !
Because the “a.m” is intended to be a clue to use the 12 hour clock - it would not be present if using a 24 hour clock.
There has been much discussion of this in the QandA, worth a search.
For the purposes of the quizzes I think the best way to remove confusion is to clearly state 12 hour or 24 hour as the clue.
I agree. The time quizzes shouldn't be trick questions where you have to ferret for clues.
In the lesson it refers to "quarter past five AM", and answers "Il est cinq heures quinze". There is no mention of the 12 Hr clock response needed.
