Scoring is weird

Question

How does the scoring system work? I got several sentences right without any corrections and scored 0 out of 70.

Another exercise with lots of corrections, I got 30. It doesn't make any sense. Or shouldn't we pay attention to the scores?

I'm sorry that our scoring system for the writing and dictation exercises seems confusing.
When you complete a writing or dictation exercise, it's important to self-mark each sentence using the star system. If you don’t do this, Kwizbot assumes that you haven't submitted a score. It will then record your result as zero even if your answers were actually correct. That’s why you may have seen a score of 0 despite having correct sentences in one exercise. We received feedback from users who were not interested in scoring their own answers which is why we decided to put this system in place. However, if you wish to score yourself in order to get a better picture of your progress/performance, do not forget to do so using the star system.
