Why do we place the adjective before the noun in some sentences, and after the noun in some sentences?

Hi,in the sentence "He's jealous that we're successful ' which translates to " il est jalouse que nous ayons de succès", the ayons is indicative but why is it not avons and if the indicative is different than the present tense form, how should I know and it's not in the Lawless verb tables.Appologies in advance if these are dumb questions. 

this is frustrating. where does it say "jour" as in day? how are we supposed to know its St Julien Day and not a destination called St Julien?

I always say this to my daughter (I'm trying to teach her french too). But if this is more of a general statement, is that a bit of a weird way to speak to a child then? I.e. to tell them to go and brush their teeth.

If the sentence  is "Elle finira en prison pour avoir tué son amant." ....why does the English translation say "She will end up in prison for killing her lover" and not 'She will end up in prison for having killed her lover"....?

Statement: ...Je me sens beaucoup mieux !  Question: Tu sens une différence ?

Why does the question use sentir and not se sentir (ie, "Tu te sens...)?  Is it because the statement is about feeling better ("internal" feeling) and the question is about feeling a difference (perceiving something)?  Would "Tu te sens mieux ?" be a correct way to ask if someone is feeling better?

Est-ce que je peux utilizer “cuire” comme “Je cuis une jolie dinde”? 

I came across ‘je ne pense pas qu’ils auraient reussi à s’arracher à lui s’il était revenu.’  (Harry Potter translation).  Although penser when negated takes the subjunctive is the subjunctive not used when a conditional tense is needed? I guess I’m not sure whether tenses change the use of the subjunctive. I read the future changes to the present to us the subjunctive. 

I was doing an exercise about what in subject, the phrase was: Jacques est descendu du haricot magique". I translated it as "Jack climbed down the magic beanstalk" and the system told me that the correct answer was "Jack got off the magic beanstalk". Why?
