curious can the verb guarder be used instead of tenor?? for keep?????
In an exercise I should fill in the following gap:
Mon fils ________ aller aux toilettes.
I choose "envie d'" but the solution seems to be "a besoin d'". But one example in the lesson about "Avoir envie de = To feel like, want to (Avoir envie de = To feel like, want to (French Expressions with avoir))" is:
J'ai envie d'aller aux toilettes !I need to go to the toilets! So I would like to know, if both are correct. And if not, how do I choose the right one?
Best regards,
Martin
I just read that the definite article MUST contract if followed by a masculine article, but see that "la boulangerie est près DE l'hôtel" is correct. Shouldn't it be "la boulangerie est prés DU l'hôtel"?
Why is de soeurs correct instead of des soeurs?
The two answers so far have differing advice. Could Cécile comment please?
Laura Lawless’s explanation seems to accord with Alan’s - se parler is one of "20 verbs for which the reflexive pronoun is always an indirect object" (That is, they’re talking to each other, not talking each other, and parlé is invariable.)

A couple of questions:
En forme et en bonne santé- is this a standard spelling despite the masc noun animal?
I struggle with the passive voice..."par" is supposed to be a signal of it....is "the rules have to be established" a passive voice? Why isn't the answer ....is faut que les règles établissent?
Thanks so much for your help with this
