Can anyone explain what the difference between the passe compose and past perfect forms of devoir are? google translate shows them as being the same thing:

J'ai dû faire quelque chose     -> I had to do something

J'avais dû faire quelque chose  -> I had to do something

Similarly what is the difference between the future and conditional forms:

j'aurai dû faire quelque chose  -> I should have done something

j'aurais dû faire quelque chose -> I should have done something

Est-ce qu'il y a une nuance sous-jacente liée à l'utilisation de "en admettant que/en supposant que" pour dénoter une réserve/restriction? Par exemple, si l'on dit "J'irai le voir en mars en supposant/en admettant qu'il n'ait pas trouvé un nouvel emploi ailleurs d'ici là", vaut-il mieux d'opter pour "à condition que" ou même "si" pour dégager une impression plus neutre?

Why is it not "Non, ici rien n'est PAS cher"?  

I saw in a previous post that you refer us to Ne ... rien = Nothing (French Negations), but this says that you don't need "pas" in situations where you use a different word in place of "pas"...  so you could use "n'est rien" instead of "n'est pas".  But in the text above, "rien" is already in the sentence, so we shouldn't repeat it, right?  So, where is the "PAS"?  Or can any adjective simply replace the "pas"?

Writing as someone whose education didn’t include instruction in all the tenses - or, more truthfully, I just wasn’t paying attention - I’d like to know when to use subjunctive present instead of plain ordinary present. I suppose I could just Google it but I’d rather find it in Kwiziq. This is more an observation than a question. Thanks for your time.

The lesson uses :"Ce lit fait 2 mètres de longueur."

But the answer: "Ma piscine fait 6 mètres de longuer" is marked wrong.

Why is that?
