In an exercise - Pauline s'habille de plus en plus élégamment.
Why is the 2nd "s" not pronounced as a "z" - given that the word following starts with an é ?
I have been studying the rules and just did a quiz on this.
I needed to research these expressions.
We would profit if after the exercise we are given the sentences where we had made mistakes, or given a retrial to specifically work on them.
Could anybody help me with the form of the word: 'cochant'?
I have learned third person plural conjugation is cochent, but this word 'cochant' I couldn't find in a dictionary.
As you know, cocher is infinitive form of verb but what about cochant? Please!
The original context: "Répondez aux questions en cochant la ou less bonne response."
Please help me!
Not a question, but sounds like a great day I'd like to do merci beaucoup :)
Merci pour les nouveaux exercices d’écoute !
On the phrase On ne doit pas parler la bouche pleine, how come avec is not necessary to translate it to "with the mouth full"?
I don't know if this was just a glitch, but during the exercise in the acceptable answers for "I made my pumpkin pie", the option audio says "J'ai fait ma tarte à la citrouille" but the option text says "J'ai fait ma tarte à citrouille". The text at the end of the exercise under "Here's the full text for you to read and listen to:" is correct.
"by punching a wall" - how does this translate to the above and why? the phrase is "donner un coup de poing" so why is it "un" replaced with "des" here? and why is "dans le mur" when it says "punching A wall"?
I think faire faire and se faire + infinitif are quite hard for English speakers to get their heads round. Is there a reason that only one of the examples is in the present tense? Even that one is ambiguous (ils se font couper les cheveux - could be they’re getting their hair cut as we speak or are just about to).
It's a pity that once we submit our responses to kwizes that are sent to us by email, we don't get to know where we made mistakes. Perhaps may I suggest that the incorrect answer be indicated in bold red colour or underlined to identity it?
For example,
My score for the Saint Patrick's Day kwiz was 13 correct and 1 incorrect. I did it twice but I think I got the same error? Can you tell me where my mistake was?
My answers are below:
