I answered incorrectly "au haricot vert", and was wondering if the difference is audible? Though perhaps this is something to know context rather than hear.

Aux haricots verts

Hi George,
No, there is no difference in pronunciation between the plural or singular phrase as the -h is an h aspirate and no liaison is made between aux and haricots.
However, as you need more than one green bean to make this soup it has to be the plural.
Hope this helps!
