In the sentence,"Selon les témoins que j'ai interviewés, et aussi incroyable que cela paraisse, un hélicoptère se serait posé dans la cour de promenade de la prison et La Fuite serait monté à bord avant qu'il ne redécolle, tout ça en quelques minutes à peine !", I don't understand the use of the present tense of redécoller when we are discussing something that happened in the past in particular when it is preceded by two past perfect verbs, se poser and monter.  Also, why is ne inserted before redécoller?

In the fill-in-the-blanks piece associated with the music vocabulary, reference was made to « faire un carton » - to be a hit, so I looked into what the opposite of this would be and « faire un bide » - to be a flop. Useful vocabulary to add to the list ?

In the passage, " ... and Lisa fills the washer dryer.", you should say that Lisa fills the dryer.  A washer-dryer is usually a stackable set of machines with the washer on bottom and the dryer on top, although it can also be one integrated machine.  In this exercise, Lisa is clearly loading the dryer.  We would only say that she is loading the washer dryer if she is loading both machines.

THe subjunctive form is "nous ne detestions pas" yet in your exercise you have "nous ne  detestons pas" ??

The recommended translation of 'It [the year] started with the biggest heartache of my life' is 'Elle a commencé avec la plus grosse peine de cœur de ma vie'.

Is there a reason why 'avec' is preferred over 'par' in this sentence?

Why is vu used in this case to mean since in this case? Also is there anything similar to this that we could use the same way? Thank you

What is the difference between très and trop? Because it corrected me when I said "Il est très drôle" instead of "Il est trop drôle". Thanks! 

As per this lesson, would it be wrong to use the passé composé in ALL positive sentences with DEPUIS?? 

For example - "Vous avez grossi depuis l'année dernière."? Is it incorrect? [You have gained weight since last year]. Is it a must to use present tense ONLY over here?

So, "Vous grossissez depuis l'année dernière." - (Present Tense) [You have been gaining weight since last year] 

It says to use MIEUX for a general statement with être about something or someone being fine/OK/better/the best. 

Can we say.... "C'est la mieux idée." ? [This/It is the best idea.]
