How could you say "He needs a day off." ?

I answered:

Il a besoin d'un jour de congé.

*Il doit un jour de congé*

The lesson says "Note that while the forms de hauteur, de longueur, de largeur can also be used (though less commonly), you can NEVER say de profond."

Surely it would make more sense to say "Note that while the forms de haut, de long, de large are more common than de hauteur, de longueur, de largeur, you can NEVER say de profond."

I don't understand why we use "j'en ai pour" ? What's the reason behind this?

Would it be, then, "je mange plein de chocolat" or "plein de chocolats"?  "Plein de pomme de terre" or "plein de pommes de terre"?  Thanks in advance.  

The tense chosen for pouvoir in this case is the conditional, which to me translates as "would you tell..."  and not as "could you tell..."  I get this wrong a lot and I am aware of the lesson but still err in regard to translating could.  Help!

Some advice please on when to use vouloir in the present versus the conditional for "I want".  In English, insofar as I know, we don't distinguish between "I want" and "I would like".  On second though, perhaps "I want" expresses a slightly stronger desire.

Could anybody help me with the form of the word: 'cochant'?

I have learned third person plural conjugation is cochent, but this word 'cochant' I couldn't find in a dictionary. 

As you know, cocher is infinitive form of verb but what about cochant? Please!

The original context: "Répondez aux questions en cochant la ou less bonne response."

Please help me!

This is not a big discrepancy at all, but shouldn't part one be on the lesson list before part two? As it is now, part two is listed first & part one second.
