Questions about choices of wordsI have several questions about word choices I made that were crossed out as though incorrect, so I need to understand why my choices were wrong.
I used « En général » instead of « D’habitude »
I used « je n’ai pas envie de courir » instead of « je n’aime pas courir »
I used « passionnant » instead of « excitant »
I used « ils ne touchent plus la terre » instead of « ils ne touchent plus par terre » or « ils ne touchent plus le sol »
I used « soudainement » instead of « soudain »
Were my choices incorrect, or were they just not one of several sentence constructions that could have been made? It is hard to benefit from these exercises if you don’t know!!
Thank you!
Hi! Just got a couple questions here:
What's the difference between "parfum" and "arôme"? Are they not interchangeable?
I thought that "marchand de glace" would refer to a person, not a place. Is "salon de glace" not a thing? Does "café-glacier" work at all?
Thanks in advance!!
Hi,
I'm wondering how we can differentiate "elle se lave" or "elles se lavent" when hearing
They pronouns exactly the same.
Why are we saying la veste que je vous ai acheté and not la veste que j’ai acheté de vous?
A bit confused.. just taken a test and this question..
Write "I am in front of the school." : "Je suis ________ l'école."
I used “en face de” which is marked as incorrect. Devant certainly works but why is en face de wrong? Linguee is happy with it!
I think Kwizik always uses "Multiple choice" questions for this section. Could you include a question where we have to write the answer or part of the answer.
In the first line, "...I used to sleep all the time." Instead of "je dormais tout le temps", can I write "j'avait l'habitude de dormir tout le temps"?
In the sentence: "We brushed our hair", should we write "Nous nous sommes brossé les cheveux" or "Nous nous sommes brossés les cheveux", please? Thank you.
what are the meaning of jusque-la?
Do I use it in present tense, past tense and future tense ? and does it have two meaning? (until then,So far)
Examples:
1-Mon fils était un brave garçon jusque-là= My son was a good boy until then
2-C'est mon moment préféré jusque-là=it is my favourite moment so far
3-Les reste de cadeaux attendra jusque-la=The rest of the gifts wait until then
Aidez-moi S'il vous plait
Hi! I was translating the sentence "Marie invited Julie to go to a concert.
And the right answer was "Marie a invité Julie à un concert".
Can I know the reason for which "à" and "un" are not contracted here please?
Thank you in advance.
