j'ai hate que

The online French-English dictionary translates "je ne peux pas attendre a" as "I can't wait to", with numerous examples, but you list only "j'ai hate que" as a translation for "I can't wait to". Is there some difference between "j'ai hate" and "je ne peux pas attendre" in actual French usage?

vous êtes assis??Hi - the example "Le canapé dans lequel / où vous êtes assis m'a coûté une fortune", the translation has me a bit confused (where you're sitting = vous êtes assis). My mind wants to make "where you're sitting" the present tense - ie: vous (vous) asseyez. However if the passé composé is correct, my brain wants to either write vous vous êtes assis, or vous avez assis?? Thanks in advance..

Passer devant vs passer parPasser devant chez-toi, I understand, means to go passed your house, but passer par chez-toi, to pop in to your house, or pass by (but not go in) or both ?

“tel que” structure agreement ruleMore of an observation than a question (as I’ve investigated this a little myself now), but I felt that “ainsi que dans certains domaines d'activité, tels que l'administration ou la santé.“ is a great line to illustrate that the generic “tel que” structure agrees with “domaines (nm.pl)” and therefore is “tels que” in the exercise text. It is not “telles que” because it does not align with the examples that follow it (in this case, two feminine words, “administration/santé”).

grand- agreement in gender and numberThere are many occasions in French where words have to agree with something else in the sentence. So far, it has been either agreement in *both* gender and number (e.g. conjugating passé composé with être) or no agreement (e.g. conjugating passé composé with avoir). But today I came across the plural of grand-parent: "grands-parents" with an "s" in the middle. Yet, your mother's mother is a "grand-mère", not a "grande-mère". Are there more situations where there is agreement in number but not in gender or vice versa?

haïr vs détesterWhat is the difference between haïr and détester? Couldn't I just as easily say Je te déteste and so on? Is one "stronger" than the other.

Mal vs. malade

My understanding is that J'ai mal à + noun is physical pain whereas Je suis malade is more like "I am sick" (perhaps with a flu or cold). Can you please confirm whether that is correct?

As well, it would probably be useful to either link to a lesson that explains être malade or have another section in this lesson that explains the difference for future students!

JeuneHi Laura You have Jeune before the noun, but it can be placed before or afterwards. The example i was given is un jeune professeur and a professeur jeune. The first meaning he was not long a professeur and the second that he was a professeur who was young in age. If this is the case can we always assume that jeune before the noun means young in age?

au vs duIn a writing challenge, two correct sentences were: "Je suis considéré comme l'un des meilleurs footballeurs DU monde." and "Je suis considéré comme un des meilleurs joueurs de foot AU monde." Why is it "au monde" in the second one?
