Pourquoi pas : commencé à bavader ou causer?
The examples of use of the passive voice use is, will be, would be, was and used to be. Please provide an example of "had been". Is it for example "La souris avait été par le chat"?
Hello,
The lesson states the possessive adjectives son, sa or ses should be used with il faut, and notre/nos / votre/vos are never used.
In the quiz, "Il faut faire nos valises immédiatement." was listed as a correct answer to the question "How could you say "We must pack immediately." ?".
Shouldn't it be "Il faut faire ses valises immédiatement"?
What is the difference between devoir in Le Conditionnel Passé and L'imparfait?
For example: Where do these two questions differ?
1. Tu devais fermer la porte à clé.
2. Tu aurais dû fermer la porte à clé.
And please don't simply translate them into English. Paraphrase would be better for me to understand. S'il vous plaît !
The clue on the 2nd last screen is ' it = general statement ' but there is no 'it' in the sentence being translated, just 'I find that topic really interesting.'
The clue is misleading given the answers suggested, not unexpectedly, use ' ce sujet ' or ' ce thème ' .
On the following screen "I am going to buy it straight away. " In this case 'it' refers to a specific novel, so 'general statement' is not correct either.
I don't think the clue is helpful or necessary on either screen.
Why does the text switch from imparfait to passé composé here:
Nous étions vraiment désolés. Nous nous sommes excusés
In the sentence "Bien qu'il ne reste qu'une petite partie du pont aujourd'hui, elle offre encore une vue spectaculaire sur le Rhône et la ville." it seems le pont is masculine but in the second clause is is referred to as elle. Should this be il or am I missing something?
The quiz asked me to find correctly placed adjectives and I thought colors are supposed to go after the noun? Unless there is a exception here i missed.
