Every time I do this exercise I make the mistake of translating 'who helped viewers chose what to watch' as 'qui aidaient les téléspectateurs à choisir ce que regarder' rather than 'quoi regarder'. Why is quoi the preferred translation?

Good, better, best(bon, meilleur, le/la meilleure).  How is "ma meilleure amie", translated as "my best friend" distinguisablle from "my better friend" except by convention?  I.e. one would never say yare my better friend.

We say “j’aime le chocolat” (in general) or “j’ai mangé du chocolat” (a quantity). So I thought the translation for  “we tasted sausage rougails with yellow rice” might be “nous avons goûté DES rougails”, but the answer was “nous avons goûté LES rougails”. I thought it would follow the same logic as the accompanying yellow rice, “… avec du riz jaune”.  But my reasoning is obviously not quite correct. Can someone please explain why “les” and not “des” for the rougails? 

I know full well that you include 'que' here (as a subjective pronoun follows) so why don't you put 'that' in the English example so as not to mislead into a deliberate wrong answer (We have the teacher that we wanted). This is out of order.

So how are we going to know  if the question  is a formal or an informal one

The meanings of present  participle

when I use "present participle" İn the begining of the sentences, does it mean "Because and after?
1-En me réveillant à 6h, j’ai fini avant midi.=Because I woke up at 6 am,  I finished before noon.
2-En me réveillant à 6h,Je suis allé à l'école= After I got up at 6 am,I went to School?
