I think I put "au sud de France"... I'm translating directly from English, but is there a reason why "in the south of France" becomes "du sud de la France"

Il rappelle son ex à Maria -> He reminds Maria of her ex.

Do we know here  that it's Maria's ex rather than his ex? If we do, then how would we say his ex?

Can you explain why, in the sentence "quand j'ai envie de viande", we do not have a future tense after quand?  Thank you.

To all those who are confused about why 10 mins etc. is correct and 10 minutes is wrong, please ignore the given explanations as they make no sense whatsoever. They are both correct!

For the line « Il n'aime pas le vert » one of the reference lessons is to the use of colours as adjectives with changes in gender/number. However, in this sentence « vert » is a noun, and a more relevant reference would be to the use of (definite) articles with ne ... pas as linked here:

I am not clear why my answer ( the second one) is not also correct based on the lesson.  What am I missing?

Je suis en retard de dix minutes.  INCORRECT - Why??

I'm hoping you can clarifying something.

I had to translate the following sentence to French:

This year I remembered her birthday for the first time

I used:

Je me souvenais s'anniversaire pour la première fois.

I was told this conjugation was incorrect and I had to use "je me suis souvenue".

I don't understand why?

Why is it "C'est là que j'ai appris" and not "C'est là où j'ai appris"?
