Can we use "d'habitude" at the beginning of a sentence?

"D'habitude, je ne prends pas le train."

"Les enfants demande à leur mère de leur raconter ce qu'ils doivent manger pour être forts. "

Can anyone tell me whether the expression is être fort or être forts?? Or if both are acceptable, then when should I use each form?

Could I use the expression "tenir au courant" instead of "prevenir" for the following phrase

"Tu me teniras au courant s'ils arrivent en retard, d'accord"

It's been some time since I lived in France, but at that time a restaurant menu was called "une carte". Has the usage changed that much that "la carte" only refers to "un menu a la carte" these days?

Also - just want to point out that some of the sections are missing the oral reading link.

 Otherwise, a fun exercise and I learned a new word - "une couette"!

Hi, I think I'm a bit confuse when comes to gender. I thought whenever for feminine, need to add -e. But, how come there is a gender for fruits. And when come to souris, how do I know the gender for the animal? 

It seems a bit harsh to be marked wrong for merely omitting an apostrophe. I wrote quelle fasse and not qu'elle fasse which I thought was almost correct.
