What's the difference in french between saying I took my exams and I finished my exams?
I used posé in "et j'y ai placé les tranches de pomme" and it says it is wrong. What is the difference between the verbs poser and placer?
I was wondering why "j'irai finir" is used instead of "je vais finir." Is there a subtle difference in meaning between them? Thanks!
I am totallyconfused by some of your English translations for the Passive
eg
How are you differentiating in English between Passé Composé and the Imparfait? Eg "Ils ont été accuellis par le xxx and "ils etaient accueillis par le xxx". You translate the second sentence in the tests as "They were welcomed by " but then how would you translate the first sentence?? When you ask fir a translation of "The boy was welcomed by" you can't mark it wrong if one gives answer in passé composé as opposed to "imparfait"?
Why was this marked incorrect for "I am five minutes late" ? According to the lecture, can use either "Je suis en retard" (de 5 minutes) or "J'ai (5 minutes) de retard"
In one of the writing exercises, I translated "I love my cousin Benjamin" to, "J'aime bien mon cousin Benjamin", but the system corrected this to "J'aime beaucoup mon cousin Benjamin". Why? It actually seems to me that "J'aime bien" is more appropriate than "J'aime beaucoup" (I like a lot).

If "J'ai failli rater mon examen" means I almost failed my exam, how would one say I almost missed my exam? Seems like there is some ambiguities in the word rater in this context. Thanks.
I am finding these extremely difficult, for some reason, despite doing a lot of wotk on ce que / que etc. It would be helpful if you could find some way of explaining why the wrong answers are wrong.
