Avoir beau / pourvu que / en attendant etc. Est-ce que c'est nécessaire qu'on apprenne les phrases tel que avoir beau, pourvu que, quoique, en attendant que et à condition que... Vraiment, ça n'est pas une bonne question Je sais qu'on doit apprendre toute la langue. Mais, je n'en ai jamais vu dans les examens que vous avez présenté. Hier soir, notre prof (une française) nous a introduit tel que phrases. C'est important qu'on apprenne celles qui sont listé ci-dessus? Peut-être et en toute possibilité je n'ai pas écrit ma question correctement. Mais je l'ai essayé. J'aime bien votre site. Don

Past participle of vouloirHello, The correct answer was ...Ces chaussures, je les ai (voulues) immédiatement.

Why is, Ces chaussures, je les ai voulu immédiatement not listed as choice. The past particle of vouloir is voulu. Thanks for your help.

"In a Clothes Store" writing test

Bonjour Aurélie et Cécile,

My problem is with this phrase in the above writing lesson

"...jacket that I bought FROM you two weeks ago." Correct translation given is :"que je vous ai achetée il y a deux semaines."

I can't find the lesson describing this usage of object pronouns. Why is it not "que j'ai acheté DE vous"? Does not "que je vous ai acheté" mean that I bought FOR you? Please explain using FROM in this context. Thanks!

How could you say "Gregory is going away for the holidays." ?

I understand that "Gregory part pour les vacances." works and seems to match the following less example most closely: "Nous irons en Guadeloupe pour les vacances."

However, I don't understand how durant and pendant also work with this example. Can someone kindly explain it as I don't see how it matches the examples in the lesson. Thanks in advance!

Help me understand when, "be" in subjunctive, which auxiliary verb to choose-Avoir or ÊtreI initially wrote my answer with avoir...."n'y ait"....But because I see "be", I stop and question which auxiliary verb to use.I changed my answer to use être.... "n'y soit"....Please help me understand how to determine which auxiliary verb to use.Here was the test question...Nous avons ouvert les fenêtres de peur qu'il ________ une fuite de gaz.We opened the windows out of fear there might be a gas leak.
