I wondered whether islands take the feminine gender? For instance, how would one say:
in/to/ from Sri Lanka; and
in/to/from Ceylon

It may not have caught on generally, but I have seen the revised spelling of 'ognon' in use in supermarkets. Should be accepted as correct spelling, as well as the 'traditional' oignon (1990 rectifications).
In the video there is no definite article in front of Israel. Why? Are there other countries that do not have a definite article beforehand?
My question is.. What is the meaning of il est vraiment bon aujourdhui " when we only use faire for weather..
