Given that we are talking about a near term thing, why isn’t this better: viens boire un verre, ça va te redonner des forces?

On a writing exercise (Cette Semaine) was asked to translate : On Monday, I went shopping with my son. My response - Lundi, j'ai fait les magasins avec mon fils. It didn’t match answers given - Lundi, je suis allé faire les magasins avec mon fils. Is there anything wrong with my answer? Went shopping is translated similarly here.

Having this question in the quiz, I understand why the answer should be "son". What I don't understand is why there is no "pas" in the negative expression? (n'a oublié pas son billet)?

HI I'm in grade 10 learning french, We have a test on Metaphor and Irony and you need to identify whether Irony was used or metaphor was used. My question is as my first langues is English's how can identify whether metaphor was used or irony was used in french!!!!!(Like key words or how the sentence flows)

This is a phone call, correct?  Why was my word Allo (with accent on the A)marked incorrect in the first line?

on est perdus..... why plural ? on can take the place of nous ... is that the reason ?

The question that led me here asked to fill in the proper tense of the verb ‘venir’ in this sentence:  Il______heir.  I wrote ‘Il est venu heir.’ The correction said the correct answer was Il sont venu. Wouldn’t the ‘sont’ tense be used instead for the third person plural (ils)?

How do I remember the where adverbs come either after or before the verb.

I translated this as, Voulez-vous en goûter.  Apparently, the 'en' is not necessary as it was crossed out in the correction.  In English, the word, some, is implied after try or taste, suggesting an indefinite amount.  If she had said, "Would you like to try one?", I believe the translation would be "Voulez-vous en goûter un".  Can you comment?
