Unless I'm mistaken (which is very possible), "Cette écharpe lui va" would be a correct way to say "This scarf suits them" because it's not clear from the English sentence if "them" is plural (group of people) or singular (someone whose gender isn't known/specified), right? Or is that too much of Anglo interpretation?
The correct answer was listed as "Cette écharpe leur va".
Please can some explain why the subjunctive mood is used in the sentence - Qu'est-ce que tu dirais qu'on se fasse une double séance en son honneur?
Could you also say here ' nous étions allés écouter des chants de Noël à l'église locale.'?
Hi. There used to be a button to repeat the exercise once you'd finished it? At this level it's really useful to be able to do that.
Why isn't nouvelle année not in caps?
Bonjour! Je m'appelle Khyatee, mais je me fais appeler Kat.
I believe it's right but I'm not sure how to specify that Kat is a nickname/preferred name.
Could 'les infos' be substituted by ' l'actualité ' or ' nouvelle ' Thanks
Pourquoi est-ce qu'on écrit "ma sœur ou moi allumions une bougie à tour de rôle" C'est seulement une des sœurs qui fait la tâche.. donc , logiquement "allumer" serait au singulier???????
Au cours des années, elle m'a transmis sa passion - why is passé composé used? She clearly says 'over the years' so a repeated action? surely the imparfait would be used here?
Are they correct depending on whether 'en' means it (singular) or them (plural)?
1. Pierre m'en a offert. / Pierre m'en a offerte. [Pierre offered some of it/them to me.](If COD/Direct Object - 'en' - it/them)
2. J'ai mangé des chocolats. --> J'en ai mangés. [I ate them.]
Are agreement rules applicable in Passé Composé for 'en' when it is a Direct Object Pronoun ?
