I received a quiz question: "The French Revolution lasted from 1789 to 1799." It directed me to this lesson but I'm not seeing where this lesson tells you about what to use between two years?
Regarding the question ?How could you say "You need a new bike." ??
I think "devoir" would be acceptable as I perceived the possibility the person used the bike as a necessary form of transportation and the bike was either to broken to repair or was used for work. In that case they would really need to replace the bike making devoir acceptable.
Or maybe I'm just reading too much into the questionÉ
Why is there no article after "amateur de" and before "histoire"? Is it just a fixed phrase?
Is it possible to use "garder [le] secret" ? English is not my native language, I'm russian.
Hello experts and learners
Regarding the sentance, 'ce qui a eu pour résultat la création de l'Office de Radiodiffusion-Télévision Française',
Would it also be correct to write, 'ce qui s'est ensuivi la création de l'Office de Radiodiffusion-Télévision Française'?
:)
Sorry for this very small quibble - the above sentence from the microquiz isn’t idiomatic English and I can’t think when I would say it. Who is making "the noise", "that noise" or even "a noise" are possible.
For this to be correct, doesn’t the subject have to be female? I answered that only “Tu as apparu comme un ange” was the only correct answer because I couldn’t assume that the sub just was female
what does 'ce sont des amours' mean?
I am going to be fitted with hearing aids today. It is interesting that i heard surclassement as surplacement (which isn't even apparently a word). Surclassement - upgrade - is a new word to me today! Yay. I guess this level is still very easy for me. Also, I am on a Macbook Air, which means for whatever reason that I am getting both YOUR popup menu for accents, and the one that is inherent in the Mac. That's why the first part of this exercise, the accent came out wrong. I guess I need to slow down and review what I've typed, even when I think I typed it correctly. But I would like to know if I can supress your popup accent menu.
Thanks.
