Audio correction

Hi, in the exercise step-through there is an incorrect audio recording. The text is “I first heard someone breathing”/“J'ai d'abord entendu quelqu'un respirer” but the audio contains “souffle” instead of “respirer”.

Why not simply : J’ai peur qu’il soit à l’heure ? Why is « ne » necessary ?

About 'face the facts', is it also correct to translate it as ' faire face aux réalités'. 

I think 'faire face à ' is a very common expression.

In the phrase, "Enfin, après vous être imprégnés de tous les paysages somptueux,", I don't understand how "vous être imprégnés" using the infinitive in the French corresponds to the English translation, "after soaking up". Is "être" a typo where "êtes" should have been used instead?

Why is the past perfect used, rather than the passé composé? Bonjour! These writing exercises are absolutely fantastic resources that I'm enjoying very much. A little question, however: I'm also going to raise (or re-raise) Meryl's question about why the French past perfect is used, rather than the passé composé, to translate what looks like the past simple in English. I've never knowingly come across this usage before, but I've seen it now in a couple of these writing exercises and wonder if I have overlooked something. Perhaps it's a matter of perspective -- perhaps this is an extract from a longer passage where the writer has just been writing about the past, and then for these first few lines, goes back further into the past? (Though strictly speaking, you'd mirror that with "had rented" and "had travelled" in English.) The last line of the text does actually use the passé composé. Many thanks!

Expressions clarifications

why is fringues not okay instead of vetements? Why is les toilettes not correct in this sentence " Oui, bien sûr, il est dans la salle de bains, sous le lavabo."?

Can we use the expression il y a in this sentence, insted of "où est"? Bastien, tu sais où est le panier à linge  ?

Il est or c'est

Not directly related to the question of when to use the subjunctive, but is it correct that you would say "c'est ennuyeux qu'il soit parti" but, on the other hand, "il est important qu'il soit parti"? If so why the difference?
