In the kwiziq glossary entry for Verbes aux deux auxiliares, it mentions that demeurer follows "the reverse pattern" to the transitive/intransitive rule.

I have used that as my rule of thumb for a while now, and it was always confusing to me (as a verbe d'état, it is intransitive, yet takes auxiliary « être », so that note didn't feel right).

I just found the comments and explanations here on this page, and all is now clear - thank you Aurélie and other contributors for the information you have shared here!

It might be worth correcting that glossary page entry, too, in case others stumble across it in the future.

Hi - I am not sure if this is a typo? I have never seen this word - Quiès

What does it mean?

Is there something wrong with the sync?

Why is it capitalised?

Hi, what is the point of inverting verbs? Does it change the mood of the question? All I got from this lesson was "it sounds better".

Can I use this phrase in situations like, "That's it! I've had enough!" Or would ça suffit be more appropriate here? 

Noting Joan's question previously (~1 year ago) and Cécile's response, I have to ask why «dehors» is/was not recognised as an option in place of «à l'extérieur». I know the usual - can't cover every possibility - reason. However, in practice (at least where I am currently in the east of France) «dedans» and «dehors» are far more commonly used to express inside or outside (the house), and à l'intérieur or à l'extérieur are rarely heard. Suggest this very common and applicable alternative should be recognised.
