Hi, what is the point of inverting verbs? Does it change the mood of the question? All I got from this lesson was "it sounds better".
why would you do this?

why would you do this?
This question relates to:French lesson "Inverted questions in the present tense (Le Présent) in French - regular forms (except il/elle/on forms)"
Asked 2 years ago
Bonjour Zeynep,
It might "sound better" but not just: it is a structure you will find when reading French books, poetry, in plays etc ; when writing French too. It is a structure of the French language that needs to be taught, even if, in a casual conversation you won't always use/hear it ;-) .
I hope this is helpful.
Bonne journée !

Bonjour Zeynep, it makes the question more formal and therefore more polite.
