The given translation of "Vous êtes retournés dans la maison de votre enfance" is "You went back to your childhood home."
But can one distinguish between "going back to" (and remaining outside) and "going back into"? In other words is "retourner dans" invariable, or is "retourner à" also acceptable? What is triggering the use of 'en' in the sentence 'le destin en a décidé autrement' ? Is it the fact that 'décider' implies a clause starting with 'de' - or something else ?
I often can't see a simple 'de...' clause that could be interchanged with the 'en'.
Why didnt we say : On ne doit pas parle la bouch pleine
instead of On ne doit pas parler la bouch pleine
since it is ER ending verb is that the right way ?
Impossible concept! How bad can it sound to a native speaker if I get this wrong? They always ask if I speak English, anyway, every time I speak French.
puis j'irais en Arizona (from fill in the blanks). As I learned from other sources all US states are masculine but 9: la Californie, la Caroline du Nord, la Caroline du Sud, la Floride, la Géorgie, la Louisiane, la Pennsylvanie, la Virginie, la Virginie occidentale. So, Arizona is not feminine ? So shouldn't it be à l'Arizona?
It's a small point, but do French people write Ier with a capital I or 1er with a 1 ? Or either ?
