What is the difference between billet and ticket

Is there any general rule about how to identify which French expressions do not use an indefinite article where English would use one. In other words, why not "c'est un bon signe" ?

Could you please explain why the pronoun 'en' is used in this phrase? I am having difficulty recognising when to use en and what it means in this context. Thanks.

In a couple of academic articles I'm reading which are written in French, equations are numbered things like: "(2.1)" for "equation 1 from section 2", "(5.15)" for "equation 15 from section 5", etc. How would one pronounce these numbers? For instance in English, I would pronounce "(2.1)" as "two point one" and "(5.15)" as "five point 15".

This exercise doesn't work because the audio files are all out of sync. Instead of writing down what we have heard for each line, we are expected to guess what the next line will be !
