Why s' ouvre? The verb "ouvre" is not a reflexive verb.

au coin de by / nearBonjour Aurélie ou Gruff, Alors, j'ai appris qu' «au coin de» traduit comme «at the corner of», mais dans cette leçon-ci la traduction est «by/near». Je ne peux pas trouver cette traduction dans le Collins-Robert. Pourriez-vous me donner l'explication? Merci, Ron

Test scoresI've been trying to reach a "confidence" level of 90% at C1 level. I got to 89.9%, took 2 further C1 tests and got 100% on each, but my level slipped back to 89.6%. How's that?

Difference between que, quoi qnd qu'est ce que

So do "Qu'est-ce que fais tu?", "Fais tu quoi?" and "Que fais tu?" all have the same meaning of 'What are you doing?'?

Variable and invariable pronouns

Searching through Google I came across Lawless pieces on variable and invariable pronouns. I'm still not sure how my use of Personne was wrong, or how aucun can be either an adjective or a pronoun, but I can live with that expecting a glimmer eventually, but it would be helpful if you could explain the terminology. Why are they called variable and invariable negative pronouns? Is it because the invariiable ones don't agree, whilst the variable ones do? This is one of those things people who know this stuff take for granted.

Suzanne adore les vêtements oranges.There is a question about this and my response (above) was incorrect. Is les vêtements an exception to adding the ‘s’ at the end to orange? I couldn’t see the exception in the discussion. Thanks.
