What is the function of the word “ce” in this phrase: Dans le milieu professionnel, et ce dans presque tous les secteurs d’activité
In “en espérant que je ne me rende pas compte de son absence.”
We have “rendre” in the subjunctive as “rende”. This has been triggered by “espérer que”. But I thought that an affirmative use of “espérer que” would use the Indicative as opposed to the Subjunctive. I don’t know what additional implication the use of the gerund has though…

In: “And if you need help, I will be happy to help you.” = “Et s'il te faut de l'aide, je serai heureuse de t'aider” I’m hearing “serai ‘z’ heureuse” as if the text were in fact “serais heureuse”. Are my ears deceiving me?

I just learned that etre exciter means being sexually aroused and not excited. Perhaps we can clarify. Les filles étaient tout excitées de voir le feu d'artifice.

I was wondering what is the easiest way to know when something is in the 12 hour clock or when something is in the 24 hour clock? This seems to be my most problem in this section of understanding.
