I got this question wrong in a test on another site. Unfortunately no explanation was given. Can someone tell me why there is no agreement when faire is used in this case as a past participle ?
Les modifications que j'ai faites apporter au projet sont approuvées. (Marked wrong)
Les modifications que j'ai fait apporter au projet sont approuvées. (The right answer)
Hi , which is correct and why
Quels livres avez-vous lus ? Or
Quels livres avez-vous lu?
Nous avons visité une exposition qu'un ami a recommandée.
If 'que' referred to 'un musée', then the past participle would lack the final 'e'?
Hi. Regarding the Ikea (C1) exercise https://kwiziq.learnfrenchwithalexa.com/my-languages/french/exercises/judge/1046/12894963?response=2395393&page=8
It links to this lesson and gives the best answer as "elles m'ont quand même forcée à faire tous les rayons !".
Why would it be forcée and not forcé in this case? Wouldn't it be the same as the indirect object pronouns shown in this lesson?
Hi. I am trying to figure out why this uses the passe compose if followed by 'que'.
Les fleurs que j'ai senties étaient belles.
Would you not be able to use "que j'aie senties" instead of "que j'ai senties", because I remember seeing that when there is "que" we use subjonctif. I do notice this seems to be past tense which is why I ask if the Subjonctif Passe can be used. I am unsure if I have worded my question well, in that you may understand. I appreciate any help provided.
Why in this case there isn't an agreement? Should it be
il nous a laissés partir.
Thank you.
I am perplexed with this particular example (repeatedly get it wrong on the tests). I believe I understand the concept, but in this instance could you explain why spelling of "ecrite"? Wouldn't the last "e" also have an accent aigu? For example (from the same lesson): J'ai rencontré les actrices que j'ai appréciées. Some examples have it, others do not. Though I've reviewed the lesson repeatedly, obviously something is going over my head!
Thank you.
Valerie
hello,
I'd like to know whether the past participle agrees with the following pronouns me, te ,nous, vous? what happens in this case? Please give examples.
Thank you.
Trupti.
I took a quiz that asked this question:
Les garçons ? Oui, elle les a ________ . The boys? Yes, she punished them.HINT: punir = to punish
I understand the lesson, the verb punir is to be conjugated to agree in number and gender with the direct object it's replacing. But the passe composé conjugation for punir is "puni," according to your conjugation page. (ex: je "puni" tu "puni" .... nous "puni" ... ils "puni.") So how is the correct answer "punis" ?Find your French level for FREE
