In the test question: "Suzanne aime les vêtements [INSERT]", the correct answer is "orange". My question is: wouldn't the color orange agree with the noun ("les vêtements") which is plural? Why is the correct answer "orange" and not, as one might assume, "oranges"?

Nevermind, I think I just heard it wrong

In this example Je vois un soleil jaune et une fleur jaune. the pronounciation of the word jaune is very different for the first and second occurence. The first one is pronounced with an e almost like jauné, while the second one has a silent e like jaun.

Is the word pronounced differently depending on the gender, is the speech broken (it sounds very robotic), or is it pronounced differently depending on what word it comes before in the sentence (here ... jaune et ...)? 

How do you describe colors that are not the basic color wheel hues like red, blue, green, purple?  For example, if I wanted to describe a pale peachy-pink?  Rose is too broad.  I am an artist and I want to be able to describe in French colors more specifically. Merci.

In a recent test I was asked to complete the following; Yves a les yeux…….( Yves has brown eyes). I wrote Yves a les yeux bruns which was deemed incorrect; why? My Harraps French English Dictionary assures me that either brun or marron can be used in this context.

Shouldn’t the adjective be plural to match the noun?

How do I know canines are feminine? Because the singular ends in ‘e?’

I'm curious to learn why 'brun' is an unacceptable translation of 'brown' (as applied to hair colour), in favour of 'marron' which is just a particular shade of brown.

I'm pretty sure that the quiz got the question on "vert" wrong.  Could you please check that out?
