I think that I found the context in the last quiz question -
Vous ___ entré dans la salle de bains alors que j'y étais encore ! 
You are being tested on the correct être or avoir  form here, the fact that the past participle has no -s means that we are talking about one person and not several.

without context, can only note that with ‘vous’ and être, the past participle in compound tenses agrees in both number and gender with the subject.

For the formal singular ‘vous’, no terminal ‘s’ is added. With plural ‘vous’ a terminal ‘s’ is added.

If there is no other context given, then the use of ‘vous êtes entré’ is providing the information that a single individual (male) is being addressed formally. This information is conveyed only in the written form of course ! In speech, context is needed to be certain.
