so why is it Vous vous souvenez du chemin, et pas de chemin?

Bonjour Diane,
In English, we say "you remember the way" - note the article "the." In French, you need that article as well: "vous vous souvenez du chemin" - "du" is the contraction of "de" + "le."

Please, please please can you reduce the selections in the multiple choice questions with rappeler and se souvenir. It becomes so nit-picky. I'm sure a French person would totally understand my meaning if I were to use (or not use) de or à in the huge grouping of words in the phrases that you list.
