Is "baies rouges" acceptable or only "fruits rouges"? And does "fruits rouges" mean a specific type of berry, or can it be e.g. redcurrants, cranberries etc?

Hi Carolyn,
Les fruits rouges is indeed the term used for 'red berries'.
Take a look at this page which will list quite a few of them.
https://jardinage.lemonde.fr/dossier-839-fruits-rouges-jardin.html
You may notice that one actual fruit uses the term 'baie' -
la baie de sureau noir = elderberry
but
la canneberge = cranberry
But those fruit as a whole would be 'fruits rouges'.
Bonne Continuation !
