Thanks so much for the link Chris. Unfortunately I could not find "avoir" in this list. Should it be added, or am I misinterpreting something?

Thank you for pointing this out as Chris' answer had been marked 'correct' by error. I have now answered Amir's question if you wish to take a look.
'Avoir' ( to have) isn't a verb of state but 'avoir l'air' ( to seem) is.
