I asked another question in the section on the placement of objects...forgot about this discussion after the whole exercise.. Que je vous ai achetée" for me mens that I bought you (FOR you) not FROM you. Would you please explain why one wouldn't say "que j'ai acheté DE vous". Thanks!

In the text, the passage reads: "...that I bought from you..."

To buy from somebody: acheter de quelqu'un.To buy for somebody: acheter pour quelqu'un.To buy something: acheter quelque chose.
