The question that led me here asked to fill in the proper tense of the verb ‘venir’ in this sentence:  Il______heir.  I wrote ‘Il est venu heir.’ The correction said the correct answer was Il sont venu. Wouldn’t the ‘sont’ tense be used instead for the third person plural (ils)?

Hi Ted,

The only quiz questions I can find in this lesson with 'venir' and 'hier' are the following -

I came to see you yesterday Je ____ te voir hier

Paul came to my house yesterday evening = Paul ____  chez moi hier soir

So not with 'il' or 'ils'

Could you let me know where you found your example?

Ted,

this is best directed to support using the report it button, if accessible.

The correct grammar is as you note it should be, for 3rd person singular or plural, so there is something awry somewhere that likely needs both the question and answer to be looked at.
