Dans l'après-midi

To say in/during the afternoon, we use "dans"? (ex. Il y aura un vent frais dans l'après-midi). To say in/during the morning or evening, we don't use a preposition, correct? (ex. Je vais au marché le matin/ce matin).

Hi Brittany,

If they announced windy weather in the morning you would say -

il y aura un vent frais dans la matinée

or in the evening

.... dans la soirée

So it depends...

Your sentences are correct but if you wanted to say some time during/in the morning you could also say -

D'habitude, je vais au marché dans la matinée

Bonne Continuation !

Yes, that's correct. Don't ask me why, though. :)
