le deuxième degré ?
Will there be a lesson covering «le deuxième degré» usage of French?
I ran across this in an article that I was reading and had not heard the phrase previously. It seems that there is also «le troisième degré».
premier degré = au pied de la lettre
deuxième degré = humour
troisième degré et plus = humour capillotracté, paludoludiverbisme, voire céphalocaptation…

I must admit I knew about "premier degré" and "second degré", but your reference to a "troisième degré" puzzled me :)
For me they're simply vocabulary expressions used as follows:
