I don't mind/ This is equal to me

What I don't understand is that I was marked wrong for choosing the literal translation (which you provided in the lesson itself) rather than I don't mind. That doesn't seem right. Particularly when initially learning an idiom, the literal translation helps one to remember the indirect object. If one is only allowed to choose one answer, then you shouldn't offer two that are correct. At the least, why didn't you mark my answer as "parital"?

Bonjour Valérie,

I'm sorry about the long delay in you getting an answer. When testing idioms, test questions will often include the literal translation. However, this is not the correct answer as Kwizbot is expecting the figurative meaning ;-).

I hope this is helpful.

Bonne journée !

I don't know what the sentence is that you were marked wrong at, so I can't really say much to your question. In the discussion below the lesson there is some useful information. Have you seen that?

"Ca m'est egal" (sorry, make accents with my keyboard this morning!):  I know that the standard answer is "I don't mind", but literally it is "It does not matter to me" which is also correct. All I'm suggesting is that KwizIQ may want us to provide the colloquial response, but because the lesson specifically states what the translation is, one shouldn't be marked wrong if that's the answer one chooses. It shouldn't even be given as an option. No problem. I'll pick the colloquial from now on!
