In this example: "Nous finissons de décorer la pièce", I noticed that decorer is preceeded by "de." Would the sentence translate to "We finish to decorate the room" if you were to remove the "de"?

Hi Cam,
The preposition 'de' is because of the verb -
finir de + infinitive = to finish doing something.
