Ce sont / Ces sont

Does 'ces sont' exist in French or only 'ce sont'?

I have seen differing advice on this across the internet so I'm unsure

Thanks

Hi Kali,

The simple answer is no,  you have to have a noun after ces which is a demonstrative adjective.

Ce/cet/cette and ces = this/that and these/those (demonstrative adjectives)

You say -

Ces oranges sont amères = These oranges are bitter

but

Ce sont des oranges amères These orange are bitter /these are bitter oranges

Hope this helps!
