Agreement of Past Participle when using Etre

In 'nous nous étions fait piquer' why does the 'fait' not need to agree with the subject?

Please take a look at my answer to a similar question regarding -

Bonjour Nick,

https://www.lawlessfrench.com/grammar/faire-reflexive-causative/

I see the answer to your query in the link above.  "nous nous étions fait piquer"

"We got ourselves stung" but we don't know what caused the sting, the assumption is some insect.

If you access the link above I think that you will find that the faire part remains invariable.

Hope this helps.

Bonne journée

Jim
