I looked on Wiktionary and the expression ´a l’air livré means out in the open’. When I typed a l’air libre ‘ on the test, the correct answer was a la belle étoile

Hi Ariana, 

I personally have never heard the expression 'à l'air libre', of course, it doesn't mean that it doesn't exist but if you were to sleep outside you would say -

coucher  à la belle étoile

which is a lovely expression to learn, don't you think?

Hi Ariana,

They both amount to the same thing:-

à l'air libre  --  out in the open air

à la belle étoile  --  under the stars (as in, out in the open)
