Is there any particular reason why "des poissons sur du papier" is correct, but not "du poisson sur des papiers" Thanks!
Same question about « how would you say someone needs … » three times. First time I chose the « avoir besoin de » and the « dois » option - wrong. Next time I chose only the « avoir besoin de » option to correct the first quiz - wrong. Third quiz I go back to choosing both - wrong. What gives? It’s the same question with different subject/object?
So, the first verb aller conjugates as normal, but the second verb does not conjugate, but remains in its original form?
In this sentence “ l’un des montants qui sont affichés sur l'écran”, could you use montrés instead of affichés.
Thanks
Hi, I have just taken the French proficiency exam and this was a question I answered incorrectly, but I am confused as the answer seems to be opposite of the original sentence:
Je crains qu’il tombe malade. » Quelle phrase a le même sens et grammaticalement correct ?
Correct answer: Je crains qu’il ne tombe malade
Your answer: Je crains qu’il est malade. I don't understand the error and I don't understand the use of 'ne' but not 'pas.' Can anyone help?
Mes filles sont bonnes en maths, mais ni l'une ni l'autre ne sont bonnes en français.
Why no pas after "ne sont"
