How and why do I use “y” in this sentence

“Je vais y aller avec toi.” Instead of (my version) “J’y vais aller avec toi.”

My second question on the test referred to Devonshire, which I assumed to be feminine. After taking the test, I found an explanation that all English countries ending in shire are masculine, but I don't believe it was mentioned in the material of the lesson before the test. If I'm correct that is was not explained beforehand, it doesn't seem like a good question.

I was always taught that then definite/infinite articles when followed by a vowel a apostrophe is used. Why not with "onze" in the case?

In a multi-answer test question, I was marked off for not including "Not us" as a possible translation for "Nous non plus."I don't see that meaning in this lesson. Wouldn't the back translation for "Not us" be "Pas nous?"

I have been taught that parler à someone is an exception on word order and it is correct to say Je parle à lui. This is stated as incorrect in yours
