Would it be wrong to say "ramasser les couillages" instead of "collectionner les coquillages"?

Hi Sally,

It depends what is meant -

If you want to say simply to pick up , to gather shells you would use 'ramasser'.

'Collectionner' gives the impression of accumulation to form a collection.

But interesting point!
