Why prèsent is used after pendant que why not futur as per lesson we should use futur after pendant que and quand

The sentence is -
"Nous vous demandons maintenant quelques minutes d'attention pendant que les hôtesses présentent les consignes de sécurité..."
As the two actions are almost simultaneous in the present there is no need for the future here just as in English.
You can also have a case using 'quand' when it will be followed by a present tense :
 Ça m'agace quand tu fais ça! = It gets on my nerves when you do this!
The situation is in the present and not in the future.
