"vous nous avez été recommandés" shouldn't it be "... été recommandé" assuming a single person (or shop) is being addressed?

"Vous" could indeed refer to a singular person in some cases.
Here, we actually gave you the following hint: - "you" = masculine plural That's because you usually use the pronoun "ils" to refer to a shop, as you consider the people working that shop in French.
