Use the letter on which the accent appears. So, to type "î" hold down "i" and then type the number corresponding to the desired accent.

There's a new easy way to type any language accent character by pressing F2 after the letter. eg a then F2 cycles through a à â.It's called TypeAccent and it can be found at www.type-accent.com
