Tu as and tu es
This question relates to:French lesson "Avoir faim/soif = To be hungry/thirsty (French Expressions with avoir)"
Asked 3 years ago
Tu as -- you have
Tu es -- you are
Different from English, there are a few occasions where you'd use avoir instead of être:
Tu as 5 ans. -- You "have" 5 years: you are 5 years old
Tu as faim. -- You "have hunger": you are hungry.
Tu as soif. -- You "have thirst": you are thirsty.
