"Tu aimes le violet? Oui, c'est tres joli."
"Tu aimes le violet? Oui, c'est tres joli." I said "Oui, il est..." and was marked wrong. Why is that? The object referred to is specific - "le violet". This is not a general statement.
This question relates to:French lesson ""C'est" vs "Il/Elle est" to say it is/she is/he is in French"

Hi David,
You cannot say about a colour -
‘ Le violet, il est joli ‘It has to be -
C’est joli
You could say however,
‘Ce pull violet est très joli ‘
or,
Ce violet est très joli’
Hope this helps!
