Trouver vs penser

Lesson: I think you’re beautiful. I used trouver, Je trouve que tu es belle. Why is trouver incorrect? Thanks.

Hi Liz,

Just to add to Chris' answer, you will use 'trouver ' to express a personal opinion -

Je trouve cette leçon difficile

Je trouve que cette coiffure ne te va pas du tout

although in English it will translate as 'to think', the lesson was highlighting the difference between 'penser que' and 'croire que' so would only accept those two in a Kwiz.

Bonne Continuation!

Je te trouve belle. -- I find you beautiful. (literally; expressing an opinion)
Je trouve que tu es belle. (Sounds a bit stilted to my ears.)
Je pense que tu es belle. -- I think that you are beautiful.

I think that all three are possible renditions of the English sentence, but the closest one is the third options. In general, there are many ways to translate a particular sentence. For kwiziq lessons, my advise is to stick as closely as possible to the given sentence.
